Better Mental Health: Reenergise With A Digital Detox
In our hyper-connected world, constant exposure to screens and notifications can lead to stress, anxiety, and sleep disturbance. Taking a break from digital devices allows you to reconnect with yourself and the world around you… with huge benefits for both performance and wellbeing.
Try these tips to begin your digital detox:
Start small. Designate tech-free times during your day. Use this time to engage in activities that promote exercise, relaxation, or learning, such as reading a book, going for a walk, or practicing yoga.
Create a tech-free room in your home. Make your bedroom a sanctuary for sleep by keeping it free of phones and TVs. This can improve your sleep quality, concentration, decision-making, and overall mood.
Designate a ‘phone zone.’ Have an area in the house where all the smartphones ‘live’ rather than them being a constant companion in your pocket. If you need to do something on your phone, go to the designated place, do it, then get back to what you were doing.
Embrace the digital detox and notice how unplugging can recharge your body battery.
What small action can you take to kick off your digital detox?
