A Haiku On Anxiety

I’ve found writing Haikus a restorative activity and a great way to communicate succinctly.

Anxiety chafes,

The path winds unknowingly,

Purpose in each step.

This haiku captures the tension between uncertainty and resolve.

The first line describes anxiety as physical and emotional discomfort.

The winding path evokes life's unpredictable journey. We’re preparing for an opportunity but we don’t know what it will look like or when it will present itself.

The final line suggests that purpose and meaning allows us to continue on, even in the face of doubt.

“He, who has a why to live for, can bear with almost any how.” - Viktor Frankl

Anxiety can be debilitating. But, if we embrace it, anxiety can energise us and help us continue on our path, riding the bumps along the way.

Why not take this time to reflect on your purpose… what’s your reason for getting up in the morning?
